Commemorative Partnership Program

Veterans Affairs Canada is committed to honouring those who served Canada in times of war, military conflict and peace, and to keeping the memory of their achievements and sacrifices alive for all Canadians. To support this commitment, the Commemorative Partnership Program (CPP) provides funding to organizations undertaking remembrance initiatives.

Last year marked an unprecedented year for significant military milestones anniversaries such as Vimy 100, Dieppe 75 and Passchendaele 100. The Commemorative Partnership Program was able to support 193 commemorative projects across the country.

The CPP provides funding for two types of projects:

Community Engagement

Community Engagement funding supports commemorative activities (e.g. events) or the development of commemorative resources (e.g. learning materials).

November 2018 will mark the 100th anniversary of the End of the First World War. We strongly encourage organizations seeking funding to commemorate this significant milestone anniversary to submit applications as soon as possible.

NOTE: Applications will be assessed based on geographical reach.

Maximum of $1,200 for local projects

Maximum of $2,500 for regional projects

Projects with a larger geographical reach will be assessed on a case-by-case basis to determine thefunding amount. Please contact the CPP staff before submitting an application.

Please review the Program Guidelines for more information.

Community War Memorial

Community War Memorial funding supports the construction, restoration or expansion of a community war memorial.

NOTE: Due to a high level of interest, applications will not be reviewed until November 1, 2018.

Please submit your application by November 1, 2018, for projects starting on or after April 1, 2019.

Please review the Program Guidelines for more information.

Veterans Affairs Canada aims to notify applicants in writing of its funding decision within 12 weeks of the application deadline, provided that an application is deemed complete.
