With the support of the Governments of Canada and British Columbia, the Greater Victoria Afghanistan Memorial Society will host the unveiling of a memorial to the sacrifices of all Canadian Armed Forces members and Public Servants who served in Afghanistan between 2001 and 2014. The event takes place at the junction of Courtenay and Quadra Streets in downtown Victoria from 1:30 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 30th, 2017. Details are available at It is expected the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia as well as federal, Provincial and diplomatic dignitaries will attend. AFGHAN VETERANS and families of the FALLEN wishing to attend should contact us through the website. Some funding is available for the travel of families of the Fallen from British Columbia. The public and particularly young Canadians are encouraged to attend to celebrate the sacrifice and contributions of Canadians in Afghanistan in our 150th year.
